The MMORPG, Star Wars The Old Republic is one of the most highly anticipated games of this upcoming year. Created by BioWare and LucasArts, this game hopes to immerse players into their own story-driven saga. Not only will players be able to explore, fight, and progress, they will also develop their own story through missions and quests. When developing this game, BioWare and LucasArts wanted to incorporate an interactive storyline to create an experience never witnessed in other online role playing games.
A SWTOR quest is unique compared to other online gaming quests such as World of Warcraft. Though World of Warcraft does incorporate storyline, it does not incorporate player choices. Players will usually read the quest, complete it, and have the same result regardless. With SWTOR quests, players will be able to choose a selection of answers. This allows the story to morph into the player’s own throughout the game. It is their character’s story rather than an unchanging pre-written story.
Players who want to start over as a new character will be able to forge a different story through the different answers and choices that they choose. Another interesting part of the decision making is the ability to shift alliance lines. A player may be able to start their character with the Light side of the Force but ultimately end on the Dark side based on their character’s decisions and answers. Though BioWare has incorporated this unique storyline, there are some similarities to other online games.
There will be SWTOR class quests to accomplish in order to get certain abilities and skills. Of course the concept of the player’s story will come into play as well. Most of SWTOR allows solo play. However some of the missions will require group play. Choosing to do a SWTOR quest with a group will allow players to socialize and also make allies for future group quests. There will be different types of group quests to experience. World quests are short chain quests that players can easily pick up and play while World Arcs are epic quests that follow story content throughout the entire planet. World Arc quests can span for long play sessions and allow players a great and adventurous experience.
The last type of group quests are Flashpoint quests where it delves deeper into storytelling. Getting a complete SWTOR quest guide would prove useful for anyone wanting to progress quickly through the game. When playing multi-player quests, players will have a fun addition of only being able to answer content that is specific to their class. They will have no control of what their group members say. It’s an interesting element to be had. BioWare and LucasArts will provide players an experience with quests that has never been witnessed before. With the additional element of storytelling, each player will have their own unique tale. There is an untold adventure with every player.
