Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Costume
The teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came from a Yank comic book published by Mirage lofts in 1984 in Northampton, Massachusetts. The tenet arose from a funny drawing sketched out by Kevin Eastman during a casual evening of brainstorming with his mate Peter Laird. Using money from a tax refund along with a loan from Eastman’s uncle, the young artists self-published a single issue comic meant to parody four of the preferred comics of the early 1980s : Marvel Comics’ Daredevil and New Mutants, Dave Sim’s Cerebus and Frank Miller’s Ronin.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ( or just Ninja Turtles, and formerly known in the united kingdom, Germany, Austria, Eire and Scandinavia asTeenage Mutant Hero Turtles ) are a fictional team of four mutant turtles, who were trained by a giant, chatting rat sensei, Master chip, in the art of Ninjitsu. From their home in the storm sewers of Big Apple, they battle petty bad guys, evil megalomaniacs, and alien invaders, all while remaining insulated from society at large.
The 4 main characters in TMNT are :
Originally characterized by 4 large horns protruding from his head, Leonardo is named after the Italian polymath, scientist, engineer, inventor, anatomist, painter, sculptor : Leonardo Da Vinci. He wears a purple mask and wields the bo-staff. He’s the second eldest of the four. He’s named after the sculptor. Donatello.
Raphael ( Red bandanna and sai ) – The team’s bad boy, he’s got an aggressive nature and barely hesitates to throw the 1st punch. He’s a very strong fighter. His personality can be alternately cruel and sarcastic, and often delivers deadpan humor. Still, he is intensely trustworthy to his bros and sensei. Raphael wears a red mask and wields a pair of sai. He’s named after the Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance, Raphael Sanzio.
Michelangelo ( Orange bandanna and nunchaku ) – The easy-going and free-spirited Mikey provides much of the comic relief. While he loves to chill, this Turtle also has an adventuresome and creative side. He wears an orange mask and wields nunchaku. He is named after Michelangelo Buonarroti. His name was originally misspelled’Michaelangelo’ by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman – at the time they were employing a typewriter and didn’t own a compendium.
When little known Playmates Toys Inc. was approached about producing a TMNT action figure line, they were cautious of the risk and requested that a TV deal be acquired first. In late 1987, the TMNT’s 1st cartoon series began, starting as a five-part miniseries. Here, the Ninja Turtles are portrayed as 4 wise-cracking, pizza-obsessed superheroes who fight the forces of evil from their sewer hideout, and make their first appearance in masks color-coded to each turtle, where previously they had all worn red.
A fifth turtle was introduced, a female named’Venus de Milo’ who was talented in the paranormal humanities of the shinobi. The series seemed to be a loose continuation of the flick franchise, as Shredder had been defeated and the Ninja Turtles encountered new villains.
